Impotency in man or a woman who due to a physiological sexual defect cannot have an intercourse with the opposite sex at all times and with any person (CIC, c. 1084) in that given state of the person; e.g. physiological defect of the vagina or penis of a person. This can be ascertained by the physical examination of the person by a competent physician. Antecedent absolute impotency is a diriment impediment for marriage (see “impotency”).
